Tax Filing Deadline Expected to Be Extended to May 17

According to many news outlets, it is anticipated that the Treasury Department and IRS will soon announce that the income tax filing deadline will be  extended from April 15 to May 17, 2021 due to the recently passed American Rescue Plan and continued disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new deadline gives all taxpayers and businesses subject to the April 15 deadline more time to file and pay their taxes without incurring interest or penalties, and without the need to file an extension.

We will provide further updates once additional information is released.
