Michael Wolansky
Michael Wolansky is a Partner in Buchbinder’s New Jersey office. Michael has more than 30 years of experience in tax, audit, accounting, and consulting. He provides audit services and is responsible for audit engagements of various commercial service and manufacturing enterprises. He works closely with financing companies, credit unions, factoring companies, commodities, manufacturing and employee benefit plans. Michael also specializes in Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) work, which he has been doing since the early ‘90s.
As Quality Control Partner, Michael makes sure the firm’s policies and procedures are in compliance with professional standards, including providing the firm with technical updates, training and research with respect to audit and accounting matters, and oversight of the firm’s system of quality control over the audit practice.
Michael performs national peer reviews for accounting firms. During these engagements, he conducts system reviews of a firm’s quality control system over issuing financial statements. In addition, Michael provides transaction advisory services to companies on both the buy and sell side of due diligence.
For Michael, listening to his clients and what they are requesting is of top importance. Even if his client has goals that may not be easily attainable, Michael makes it a practice of never saying no until the request is researched fully and properly. Sometimes this means talking to a client multiple times and acknowledging that initial reactions aren’t the best way to move forward.
