“I strongly believe in proper planning and communication with clients in order to put forth your best effort.”

A self-described “people person,” Marc Newman encourages constant contact with both his staff and clients. He is always in the field during an audit engagement handling issues as they arise and supporting staff in asking any questions necessary to keep the process running smoothly.

Attention to detail and making sure things are done accurately and on time are at the foundation of Marc’s work. He supervises staff closely and listens to the concerns of clients, responding to them quickly. He makes himself available as needed. He is well-liked and respected by clients, staff and other partners.

A partner in the New York office, Marc provides audit and consulting services to employee benefit plans, labor unions, non-profit organizations and privately held and family-owned businesses. He also provides forensic services.

A Personal Touch

Marc joined Buchbinder in 1983 after graduating from college and has been with the firm ever since, working his way through the ranks to partner. This has given him the unique position of growing professionally with his clients, forming personal connections over the years that have enhanced his relationships. Spending his entire career at Buchbinder has provided him with insight into what his staff may be facing out in the field – helping to anticipate and readily resolve potential problems before they emerge.

Marc enjoys the challenges audit engagements bring. For him, every day is different and interacting with clients is the highlight of his work.

In his spare time, Marc enjoys collecting Murano glass, watching sports, theatre-going, and spending time with his family.

Marc earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is licensed to practice in New York State.
