“The key to our success lies in our commitment to strive for excellence through constant improvement and our desire to achieve client satisfaction. I believe the evidence of that success is found in our clients’ loyalty.”
Originally from Pittsburgh, John Zimmerman joined Buchbinder in 1984 just after graduating college from the University of Pittsburgh. He was the second hire for the firm’s Maryland office and would often drive Raymond Buchbinder from the airport to his largest clients in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. It was during those car rides that John gleaned the importance of high quality service and cultivating personal connections – regardless of that individual’s position within an organization – as the firm’s foundational values. Today, John serves many of those same clients as a third generation partner.
Service with a Personal Touch

In his spare time, John leads his church’s audit committee, volunteers with a local non-profit that provides holistic support to families in poverty, and has served as assistant coach to sports teams in which his children have been active. He also loves to cook for family gatherings and parties at his home. His passion is to try out cooking ethnic foods – his favorite being Mediterranean styles.
