“I am always focused on my clients. I think about them 24/7.”
Labor unions are known for doing important human rights advocacy work and for Greg Auteri this fuels his passion for his clients. Assisting labor unions in remaining financially sound so they can continue to do their good work in the world brings him much satisfaction.
Greg also likes to debunk the notion that all CPAs have a tax season and are therefore unavailable from January to April. He takes great pleasure in telling his clients that this doesn’t apply to him. He is available all year long, whenever he is needed.
A partner in the New York office, Greg has more than 25 years of audit experience at Buchbinder. He specializes in single and multi-employer benefit plans, labor unions, non-profit organizations and privately held real estate businesses. While the bulk of his work is conducting audits, he handles reviews and compilations, as well as compliance services.
Greg is committed to providing his clients with high quality service and for him that begins with building a strong team of professionals. His managers are well versed in the labor union, benefit fund and non-profit industries. Engagements are planned beforehand and when the audit fieldwork begins, Greg is on location making sure everything is done properly from the very beginning.
A Long History of Outstanding Client Service
After graduating college, Greg spent two years working at a large labor union located in New York as a controller. He joined Buchbinder because of his desire to become a CPA. Since then, he has built long lasting relationships with his clients – many of whom have been with the firm for more than 50 years.
A sought after speaker, Greg speaks regularly on changes in new requirements and pronouncements affecting labor unions and employee benefit plans. He also serves on the board of Angel Guardians for the Elderly, a non-profit organization in New York.
In his spare time, Greg spends quality time with his family. He also enjoys baseball and football games and reads nonfiction literature.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at St. John’s University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Association of Benefit Administrators. He is licensed to practice in New York State, Illinois, and Louisiana.
