How to Track Your Stimulus Check
The IRS and the Treasury Department launched the Get My Payment online tool to quickly let taxpayers check the status of their stimulus check and update direct deposit information. The stimulus checks have already started to be automatically issued to eligible taxpayers who filed tax returns for 2019 or 2018.
Get My Payment will show the projected date when a deposit has been scheduled. Taxpayers can also add their bank information if they didn’t use direct deposit on their last tax return in order to receive the stimulus check faster.
Get My Payment is only available on IRS.gov. Taxpayers will need to provide a few pieces of information to see the status of their stimulus check.
Tool for Non-Filers
For Americans that don’t normally file a tax return, they can use the “Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here” tool to submit personal information to receive the stimulus checks. The tool is designed for people who did not file a tax return for 2018 or 2019 and who don’t receive Social Security retirement, disability, or survivor benefits and Railroad Retirement benefits.
Automatic payments will be sent in the near future to those receiving Social Security retirement, or disability, or survivor benefits and Railroad Retirement benefits.
