Internships

Buchbinder has a robust internship program for accounting students at its offices in New York and New Jersey. We offer a comprehensive experience, excellent support and a friendly work environment. We draw internship candidates from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

An internship at Buchbinder is a valuable first step to a professional career in any public accounting field. We give you real-world work experience and the tools to launch your professional career.

Through a brief initial training period, interns adapt quickly to the process and culture at Buchbinder. From the very first week, interns learn on the job, and are guided by managers and staff with a variety of expertise. This ensures you receive sufficient exposure to preparation, research, and projects so that you can become practiced in working as part of a team and independently in the accounting profession.

Buchbinder prides itself on fostering an "all for one" environment where colleagues help one another and work together as a team. Partners at Buchbinder make a point of interacting with all staff, including interns. In many cases, our partners act as mentors to staff, generously passing on their expertise to the next generation of accountants.

Real World Experience

At Buchbinder, you'll get an opportunity to do real work in our practice and discover for yourself where your professional passions lie. We offer internships during the winter, spring and summer.

All intern applicants will be required to submit a resume and cover letter. Please review these documents with care as they are important qualifiers to the admittance process.

You may be invited to have a face-to-face meeting with our human resources staff and professional staff at varying levels. During this meeting, you should be prepared to complete an employment application and provide references. We hire candidates who have a solid academic background in accounting and who will succeed through individual commitment, a positive attitude, diligent and effective communication, and a questioning and analytical nature.

An internship is a great learning experience and a doorway to a possible future with us when you graduate. At Buchbinder, you will have the opportunity to network with professionals who may be influential to your future career, and peers who may be your future colleagues. If you have what it takes to succeed, we want you on our team.

Buchbinder visits several area college campuses each year. Check with your university career center for information on when we may visit your campus. Alternatively, to apply as an intern, please view our Open Positions.
